Description
With the publication of this issue, officially half of the output Translunar Traveler's Lounge will be pandemic editions. When the two of us set out to start this magazine, it was important to us to fill a niche for stories that made us feel happy and even hopeful. The stories we've published—and many of the ones we haven't—have offered us those sparks of human connection that we've lost so many avenues for in our lives, and we hope they've brought you some of the same.
After all, stories are maps. They are the ways forward into a livable future—the kind of future we have to believe is not too far around the corner. And our authors are the expert cartographers who have drawn them. In this issue, they'll show you how to love someone from a different world, and how to live with the family who doesn't understand how your own world is changing. They've got instructions for love potions and field trips to the Jurassic. They have things to say about seizing power and finding hard-earned peace. They'll show you how the mighty have fallen, and how what goes up may not necessarily come back down. They'll remind you of what's still there when your back is turned, and where your dreams go when you put them away. They'll look at how to pick up the pieces of yourself, how to reconcile your own life with the stories others have told about you. They'll give you room to be who you were always meant to be.
And of course, they'll remind you to stretch your wings and fly.
