Falcon, Fly Back

12-year-old Anne de Hauteville is thrilled to receive for her very own an eyass which she helped her brother and cousin to capture. How she trains the bird, finds herself in conflict between her interest in falconry and the other demands on her time (horrible needlework!), and how she and the boys rescue the falcon (with many adventures among gypsies and bandits) when it is let loose, are all told with great attention to detail, vivid characterization, and authentic knowledge of the manners and customs of medieval France.
